About product

RLM 72 - AK 3rd Generation Acrylics AIR (17 ml)

A water-thinnable acrylic paint of 17 ml from the AIR aviation range. RLM 72 is a green tone with a flat finish and good covering power. The paint sprays like a lacquer and is ready for the airbrush, it is thinned with water or with AK acrylic thinner and it is non-toxic and not flammable.

Historical use

RLM 72 Grün belonged to the camouflage palette of German maritime and coastal aircraft. It made up the upper splinter scheme together with RLM 73 and the light blue underside, which suited operations over the sea. It was worn by seaplanes and coastal aviation machines such as the Ar 196, the He 115 and the Do 24.

Use

  • Thinned with water or with AK acrylic thinner, cleaned with water while still wet.
  • Airbrush unthinned or slightly thinned, usually at 15 to 20 PSI.
  • Suitable for a brush as well, because the self-leveling suppresses strokes.
  • Best over a sprayed base coat or over a primer, and a hard splinter edge is sprayed through a mask.

Who it is for

For modelers building German maritime and coastal aircraft in the period splinter scheme.

Shake before use. Work in a ventilated space and keep out of the reach of children.
