It is scenic material for creating terrain, not a model and not a kit. The two-millimeter length of the fibers from the name places this set among the low tufts — they do not make tall growth but low grass near the ground, exactly what most scenes need around roads, by walls and on trodden areas.
The designation Rusty Ground aims at a rusty brown, earthy position; judge the particular tone from the illustration on the box. A shade like that suits dry, parched and ferrous terrain, the surroundings of wrecks and abandoned hardware and anywhere grass is meant to carry on from soil without a harsh color break. Low tufts are also rewarding in smaller scales, where tall grass would break up the impression of scale.
Stick a tuft down with a drop of PVA glue or with cyanoacrylate glue. With low tufts it pays to divide them into smaller pieces and spread them out in irregular clusters, not as a regular row. Dust the edges with a pigment, so that the transition into the terrain disappears, and let a few individual fibers stick out beyond a cluster. Do not flood the fibers with a heavy coat of paint or varnish.
It is scenic material for creating terrain, not a model. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
