A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range. The shade carries the name Sky Grey-Green, that is a light gray-green, and two numbers from two different systems: FS 34424 and ANA 610. FS is the American federal standard of color shades, in which every shade has a five-figure number and to which shades are ordered and compared to this day. ANA was an older American aeronautical marking of shades that a number of modeling references quote for machines of the Second World War period.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom and unmixed paint gives a different tone. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, that is always the thinner made for this range. Spray in thin coats and let them set between each other. Wash, degrease and prime the base, otherwise the paint will lift with the tape when masked.
Gray-green shades are tricky in that they jump between green and gray according to their surroundings. Next to brown they look greener, next to green grayer. So always judge them on a test sample beside the other colors of the intended scheme, not in the bottle and not on their own. Let the sample dry completely; while wet the shade is darker than it will finally be.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, primer and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
