Ten pieces of plastic strip of rectangular cross section 0.50x4.00 mm and 350 mm long. The material is polystyrene, that is, plastic of exactly the same kind as in injected kits: it can be cut with a knife, glued with model cement, sanded, filled and painted. It is not a kit but a material for your own building.

Four millimeters of width already allow flat parts to be built without having to glue strips side by side. The half-millimeter thickness holds its shape better than thinner material, so a wide strip does not ripple when glued along its longer edge.

• floor plates, platforms, covers and box lids
• lining walls and the sides of superstructures with a single piece of material
• wide trims and walkways on vehicles and dioramas
• adding or replacing flat parts that are missing from a kit

Cutting and gluing

A wide strip is easier to cut if you hold it firmly with a ruler along the whole length of the cut, as the knife then will not slip. Make several shallow strokes and finally snap the material, then level the edge with fine sandpaper. For gluing flat surfaces, a liquid cement for polystyrene applied to the edge of the part laid in place works well: it wicks under the whole area by capillary action. Do not use too much, otherwise the plastic will ripple. Once cured, the joint can be sanded and filled so that it is invisible, and the surface is painted like the rest of the model.
