Tokoro George Corvette 61 is a charming shortened kit of the American sports car from the humorous Tokoro George range from Fujimi. It is not a scale model.

A playful plastic kit from the Japanese Tokoro George range from the manufacturer Fujimi. The model is based on the American Corvette sports car of the 1961 model year, but captures it in deliberately shortened, charmingly deformed proportions with big wheels. It is therefore not a classic scale model but an entertaining kit, the point of which is an easy build and a witty result.
The Tokoro George range is named after a well known Japanese television personality and car lover. The cars in it are given a caricature form with a squeezed body and pronounced details. The real subject of this set is the first generation of the famous American Corvette sports car, which became famous for an elegant body with typical rounded shapes and chrome details.
The build is undemanding and quick. The body will show to advantage in a glossy finish, ideally in a two-tone scheme typical of American cars of the beginning of the 1960s. Paint the chrome and silver details in with a brush, or use a metallic marker. Help smaller children with the gluing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
