A strongly pigmented acrylic ink in a transparent form, in a glass bottle of thirty milliliters with a pipette. It differs from covering paints in two ways: it is transparent, so it lets what is underneath show through, and it dries to a matte surface, which is unusual for an ink and practical, because texture is not lost under it. The manufacturer describes it as ultra-fluid and quick-drying, and water-resistant once dry, so it can be overpainted with no risk of dissolving.
According to the manufacturer the ink is not thinned and is applied straight from the bottle. The pipette in the cap makes dosing onto a palette easier, where it can be mixed with other shades if need be. Transparent inks are layered: one coat only hints at the tone, three coats give a saturated color, and it is always easier to add than to take away. On a porous surface the ink soaks in unevenly, so lay it onto a smooth, sealed surface. The brown shade is the most versatile of the whole group and suits wood, rust, leather and deep shading of skin.
