A profile of styrene (polystyrene) in the shape of the letter U, 3.0 mm wide and 350 mm long, in a package of 4 pieces. Among profiles the U shape is unusual in having a groove: it can be slipped over the edge of a sheet and cover it from both sides with a single part, or serve as a guide rail in which something moves. No solid bar or strip can do that.
Part the profile with a fine saw so the legs of the U are not squeezed together; after the cut check that the groove is still clear. Before gluing it to an edge, try whether the material really drops into the groove, and if not thin the edge with sandpaper rather than spreading the profile. Apply plastic cement into the groove sparingly, as the excess would run out onto the visible side. The legs of the profile are thinner than its body, so sand carefully so they are not worn through.
For modelers who build their own parts and need a cleanly trimmed edge or a working groove, and for diorama builders. It is one of the profiles that solve a job solid material cannot reach.
Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package. Work over a mat and in a well-ventilated room when cutting and sanding.
