The lighter brown position in the German uniforms group is held by German uniforms Light Brown from the Lifecolor acrylic line, a tone for canvas, straps and light leather pouches.
Responsibility details are not available.
This water-based acrylic paint belongs among the supporting tones of the uniform group. They are easily underrated, and yet it is exactly they that decide whether a figure looks like a person with kit or like a uniform casting. On one figure a brown appears several times over, and each time on a different material.
Where a light brown sits on a figure
Canvas straps, a bread bag, belts, pouches and other small kit tend to have a noticeably lighter tone than the blouse and than the dark leather of the belt. A light brown is at the same time the ideal position for the places that are rubbed; the edges of straps, the bends of belts and the places where kit presses against the uniform are brightened by wear.
Small kit is painted differently from a large area of uniform. Small parts need higher contrast than a blouse, because otherwise they disappear in the whole; on a strap half a millimeter wide the eye simply does not catch a difference in tone. Do not be afraid, then, to draw the edges out more strongly than the scale would warrant. At the same time thin coats keep the engraved detail legible, whereas a heavy coat clogs it.
For modelers of figures and busts who want the kit recognizable from the uniform, and for anyone painting small accessories for a diorama.
Stir the paint, work in a well-ventilated room and keep it out of the reach of children.
