US 38th Infantry Division Plaque 40mm is a diorama plaque with the emblem of the American 38th Infantry Division in a 40 mm size from Dynamo-Models. It completes the base of a model; it is neither a model nor a kit.

An emblem plaque for a diorama and a display case. It is not a kit and not a model of a vehicle, but an accessory with which the base of a finished model or a whole scene is described. The size of 40 mm is part of the name; the same emblem is also available in a smaller 25 mm form.
The American 38th Infantry Division grew out of National Guard units of the midwestern and southern states and bore the nickname Cyclone. In the Second World War it fought in the Pacific: it went through New Guinea and took part in the operations in the Philippines and on Luzon, where it was made famous by the heavy fighting for the mountain pass leading to the Bataan peninsula. It was precisely the connection with Bataan, where American forces capitulated at the beginning of the war, that earned it the reputation of a formation which came back to finish an unfinished business.
Pacific dioramas tend to be green, damp and full of growth, so an emblem is easily lost. Place it on an edge of the base where no leaves or branches overhang it, and count on a deeply green surrounding taking contrast away from a small subject. Level and degrease the ground beforehand; leave the fitting until the vegetation and the gloss effects are finished, so that no remnants of material catch on the edge.
