A set of three modeling paints in 17 ml bottles, put together for painting US Army helicopters.
Responsibility details are not available.
Three bottles of modeling paint of 17 ml, put together around one subject: US Army helicopters. A ready-made set saves work mainly because the shades go together. Anyone assembling paints one at a time from different ranges usually finds out only on the model that they do not match tone for tone and that they have a different degree of sheen.
US Army helicopters have carried a uniform dark matte finish with no varied camouflage for decades now. That is precisely why service shows on them: the upper surfaces fade in the sun, around the doors and in the places the crew steps the paint is rubbed down to the undercoat, dark exhaust staining is left behind the engine and dust clings to the underside. A model of a single-color machine therefore stands or falls on how you shade the surfaces.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom. Thin the paint with the product the manufacturer recommends for this range; water or a thinner from another range may not work and can curdle the paint. Apply several thin coats and let the surface flash off between them, as one heavy coat will fill the scribed detail. Clean your tools and the airbrush straight after work, as dried paint is hard to get out of a nozzle. Always stick the masks on before spraying and give the coat underneath time to cure first, or the tape will tear it off when removed.
The package holds three bottles of paint of 17 ml. A thinner, brushes, an airbrush and varnish are not included, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and store the bottles closed and out of the reach of children.
