US Dark Green is a bottled acrylic paint thinnable with water from the 3rd Generation range. The shade is a dark, gray-muted green; the name refers to the dark green finishes of American military vehicles. Take the shade as a guide and check that it matches the color scheme of your kit.
It is exactly with dark greens on extensive surfaces that the difference between patience and haste shows most. One thick coat leaves brush marks and clogs the engraved lines; two to three coats thinned to the consistency of cream give a smooth, even surface. Work through logical sections of the part - from hatch to hatch, from weld to weld - and in each section draw the brush in one direction. Do not go back into paint that has started to set, as it will tear. Let the paint really dry between coats; acrylic is dry to the touch before it is truly cured, and painting over it too early is the most common cause of a patchy surface. Use the widest brush that will fit the part.
