A model of a walnut tree 9.8 cm tall, one piece in the package. The spreading crown of this broadleaf suits field boundaries, parks and the edge of a farm building.
Responsibility details are not available.
The walnut is one of the massive broadleaf trees with a wide, low-set crown. It grows in most climatic belts and in farming country it is planted in rows or groves, because besides shade it also brings a harvest of nuts. Its wood is hard and durable, thanks to which it was always valued as a useful tree.
The package holds one tree 9.8 cm tall. The trunk with its branching is shaped and the foliage is made of a fine foam material applied to the framework of the crown. If you are building a scene in the railroad scale of 1:87, this height corresponds to a grown tree of about eight and a half meters, and in 1:72 to roughly seven meters.
In the Czech landscape a walnut used to stand by isolated farms, on village greens and at the entrances to farmyards, where farmers planted it for the fruit as well as for the shade. A scene with a tree like that therefore reads as inhabited and looked after even without any further buildings in the background.
The tree comes off as an independent landmark by a farm building, on a field boundary or above a track; in dense forest it would be lost. A tuft of taller grass and a few fallen leaves suit being laid around the foot of the trunk, as otherwise the transition between trunk and base reads as sharp. Before setting it in, the crown can be thinned out or, conversely, have fine foliage added according to the season the scene shows.
