The lilac shade belongs to the palette of German aircraft camouflage of the First World War. It is a water-thinnable acrylic modeling paint from the Air Series aviation range, in a bottle of 17 ml. The paint is ready for airbrush and for brush application alike, it has a satin finish and a durable film, and it reaches full cure in roughly 24 hours.
A lilac patch, together with violet and dark green, is a typical element of the mottled camouflage schemes of German aircraft from the end of the First World War. The shades were applied in irregular areas on the upper parts of the wings and the fuselage, and the way they come out differently in photographs still causes debate among modelers today. The WWI German Lilac shade is prepared so that it works within a scheme together with the other colors of the same range, so there is no need to mix your own tones and watch that they match from one part of the model to another.
The paint suits modelers of First World War aircraft in 1:72, 1:48 and 1:32 scale and everyone who prefers water-thinnable acrylics. It also comes into its own when painting figures and accessories for period dioramas.
The paint is water-thinnable and non-toxic, but even so work in a ventilated area, use respiratory protection when spraying with an airbrush, and keep it out of the reach of children.
