Tamiya XF-50 Field Blue (Enamel) is a matte synthetic (enamel) modeling paint in a 10 ml bottle — a blue-gray shade that the manufacturer recommends for Luftwaffe uniforms. It is thinned with the X-20 enamel thinner (not X-20A).

A modeling paint, not a kit. It is a synthetic Tamiya enamel (solvent-based) paint from the XF line, that is a matte one — the letters XF in the Tamiya designation mean a matte surface. The bottle holds 10 ml. Field Blue is a subdued blue-gray shade; the manufacturer gives it as suitable for rendering Luftwaffe uniforms.
Careful not to confuse them: Tamiya offers the same shade numbers (XF-50 among them) in the acrylic and the enamel line alongside each other. This paint is an enamel — it is thinned with X-20 thinner (without the letter A). The acrylic version of the same number is thinned with X-20A. The thinners are not interchangeable; the wrong thinner will ruin the paint.
For modelers of figures and of aircraft who need a reliable matte blue-gray with the coverage and durability typical of enamels. Enamel paints close up more slowly, which comes in handy when painting with a brush — they can be worked out longer and handle the small details of uniforms better.
Safety: flammable. It irritates the airways — use only in well-ventilated spaces and use respiratory protection (a respirator) when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children. Protect from open flame and sources of ignition.
