ZIMMERIT OCHRE COLOR

AMMO Zimmerit Ochre Color, acrylic paint

A water-based acrylic paint. It is thinned with water or the same maker's acrylic thinner, never with a lacquer or cellulose thinner, which would curdle the binder. The shade is mixed to the ocher color of Zimmerit, the pasty anti-magnetic compound applied during the Second World War to the vertical surfaces of the hull and turret of some German armored vehicles. The compound had an unmistakably coarse texture and a lighter ocher tone that stood apart from the vehicle's own finish.

Use

• The base shade of a Zimmerit layer on the hull and turret, whether the texture is molded in or made with putty.
• A base under subsequent filters, washes and pigments, which add depth and grime.
• Applied with a brush and with an airbrush; for the airbrush always thin the paint and spray in thin coats.
• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles and unshaken paint covers unevenly.

For builders of German ground vehicles of the Second World War and for modelers who make their own Zimmerit with putty and need a matching base shade for it. The tone also suits as a general light ocher base color.

An acrylic paint; do not thin it with a lacquer or cellulose thinner. Under decals, go over the area with a gloss clear coat compatible with acrylic. Close the bottle well after use and keep it out of the reach of children.
