1:1000 K-S 8 U nadrazi is a small model of a Czechoslovak infantry casemate of the heavy fortifications in 1:1000 scale from the Czech maker ROP o.s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures an object of the Czechoslovak heavy fortifications designated K-S 8 with the cover name U nadrazi, meaning by the station. In 1:1000 scale the finished casemate measures only a few centimeters, so the range is built to let you assemble a continuous line of objects and show the defensive system as a whole rather than a single structure. Behind the range stands the Czech association ROP o.s., which is gradually releasing dozens of particular objects in it based on the real subjects.
The casemates designated K-S belong to the section whose construction was directed by the engineer group command at Kraliky. The Czechoslovak heavy fortifications were built from the mid-1930s according to a single methodology: reinforced concrete objects set into the slope, the main weapons firing sideways toward the neighboring casemates, and observation and close defense through armored cupolas. The objects differed from one another in resistance, shape and the number of firing rooms according to what they were to cover in the terrain. Cover names such as U nadrazi served to tell the individual structures apart in the documentation.
In a very small scale the result is made by the surface, not by detail. A matte concrete base sprayed with an airbrush works well, with a darker wash into the joints and corners and a fine dry brush on the edges. The object will come into its own on a small base with a contour, static grass and a few bushes, because the contrast of concrete and greenery carries the whole impression. If you are building several objects from the range, mix up a stock of the concrete shade so that the whole line keeps a consistent tone.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
