A figure kit in 1:12 scale, that is in a size where every detail of the face, the gear and the surface of the cloth shows. It is supplied as a set of parts to be assembled and painted; it is not a finished figure. The 1:12 scale means that the figure is built as a model in its own right, not as an accessory to a vehicle.
First try the parts together dry and note which joints will need puttying after gluing, because on figures the most sensitive joints are at the neck, the shoulders and the waist. Remove the parting lines with a scalpel and fine sandpaper and then polish the area, because every scratch is brought out once the paint is sprayed on. Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap and let it dry. The basis is a thin primer, ideally in two light coats. In a large scale it pays to paint separately, that is the head, the hands and the individual pieces of gear on their own, and to glue them only once painted. Build the skin up gradually with thin glazes from the base tone to the lightened areas, as in this scale the transitions have to be smooth. Tell cloth and leather apart by a difference in sheen rather than by color alone, because matte fabric next to slightly satin leather is more convincing than two colorful shades.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
