This is an accessory of cast resin which replaces the wheels of the landing gear on a plastic model of the Concorde in 1:144 scale. A model of the aircraft is not included. The tires have the execution with weighting, that is with a realistic flattening in the contact patch, such as a machine standing under its own weight has. The name delimits the late execution; the early one is carried by the maker as a separate item.
The Concorde arose as a joint French and British program for a supersonic airliner. Characteristic are the ogival delta wing, the drooping nose for a better view for the pilots during takeoff and landing, and the four jet engines in paired nacelles under the wing. Regular service ran from 1976 to 2003 and the cruising speed was around twice the speed of sound. During the long service some elements of the airframe and of the landing gear went through modifications, which is the reason why makers of accessories offer early and late variants of the wheels separately.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of the mold release agent from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and sand the surface over; protect your breathing when sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, not with cement for plastic. The tires come off better in a dark gray shade with a suggestion of dust than in pure black; paint the wheel rims separately. At the end a very fine pigment in the contact patch of the tire helps.
This is an accessory set for modelers, not a model of an aircraft. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
