A cast resin accessory in 1:144 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft, but the General Electric GE90 engine nacelle in the 115 version, which according to the name can also be displayed on a stand. The set is aimed at modelers who are bothered on a large twin-engine airliner by the simplified nacelles from a base kit — the engines are precisely the most demanding part of the 777 in shape, and a casting holds sharper edges and a deeper inner wall of the intake on them.
The GE90-115 is the most powerful member of the GE90 family and powers the long-range variants of the Boeing 777 including the freighter version. It is the most powerful jet engine that has ever entered ordinary service. Compared with the older 94 version it has an even larger fan fitted with wide, swept composite blades, so the nacelle is bulkier and its silhouette differs from the earlier installations of the 777. For the modeler it is a feature that distinguishes the early from the late versions of the aircraft.
Before gluing, wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap — mold release agent otherwise repels paint. Cut the casting remnants away with a saw, level the surface and count while sanding on resin going faster than plastic; work wet and protect your airways from the dust. It is glued exclusively with super glue. Paint the inside of the intake and the fan blades while the part is accessible. Apply the metallic shades at the end, as they are harder both to overspray and to mask.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
