The New Ware 1:144 Mask Mirage III/5 is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a tiny model in 1:144 scale. The masks are cut to the shape of the parts of one specific Mark I Models kit.

A mask set for a model of a supersonic fighter in 1:144 scale. In this scale the whole model is a few centimeters long and the cockpit glazing is the size of a little fingernail, so masking by hand stops being a question of patience and becomes a question of physical possibility. A pre-cut mask solves that problem: it has the exact shape of the glazing and all you have to do is transfer it into place with tweezers.
The Mirage III and the Mirage 5 derived from it are French single-engine supersonic aircraft with a characteristic delta wing and no horizontal tail surfaces. The type entered service with a number of countries and exists in many production and upgraded standards. A model in a small scale brings out mainly the clean lines of its silhouette, so the overall impression is decided by the quality of the spraying and the cleanliness of the transitions.
Cutting a strip two tenths of a millimeter wide out of tape and laying it straight is practically impossible; the result tends to be a frame of uneven width that visually spoils the model. A pre-cut mask has its shape determined by the shape of the part, so the frame stays symmetrical. The second reason is time: what takes an hour with a magnifier when masking by hand is a matter of a few minutes with a mask.
This is a mask set, not a model. Paints, glue and the plastic kit are not included in the package. Fine-tipped tweezers and good lighting come in handy for the work.
