Resin engine nacelles for a model of the Tupolev Tu-204 in 1:144 scale. The set replaces the parts from a base kit and is fitted to the pylons under the wing. It is not a model of the aircraft, but a detail accessory to one.
The Tu-204 arose as a twin-engine narrow-body aircraft and part of the series was given the British RB211-535E4 in place of the domestic powerplants, that is the same three-shaft engine that the Boeing 757 carried. That variant found favor mainly with foreign operators and existed in a freighter form as well. For the modeler what matters is that the same engine does not mean the same part: the mounting, its angle and the joint with the wing are different on the Tupolev from the American aircraft, so a nacelle cut for one type will not fit the other. The choice of engine is at the same time the quickest guide for telling Tu-204s apart, because the version with domestic engines has a differently shaped and differently positioned nacelle. The set therefore matches the particular export form of the aircraft.
Seating a nacelle on the pylon is sensitive to the angle on this type, so try the parts dry first, hold them on with masking tape and look at the model from the front and from above. Only when both sides sit symmetrically should you reach for the super glue. Cut the pour block away with a saw, level the mating surface by sanding on paper laid on a flat board and wash the finished castings in warm water with dish soap before painting. The resin dust from sanding must not be inhaled; use a respirator.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
