Techmod, decals 1:24 Hawker Hurricane Mk.Ic

This is a sheet of waterslide decals from the Polish manufacturer Techmod in 1:24 scale, intended for marking a plastic model of the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.Ic fighter. The decals make it possible to finish the model with period national insignia and the markings of a particular Royal Air Force aircraft. It is not a kit or parts of a model: these are only decals, which are applied to a finished, painted model.

The real subject

The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine which, together with the Spitfire, bore the main weight of the defensive fighting at the beginning of the Second World War. It was marked by a robust structure, easy repair and a steady gun platform; it served on many fronts and with a number of Allied and foreign squadrons.

Use

• Apply them onto a smooth gloss varnish to avoid silvering under the decal.
• Soak the decal briefly in lukewarm water, let it release from the backing and slide it onto the model.
• For perfect adhesion to the surface, use a decal softener and a decal fixer, and gently blot the excess water away.
• Once dry, give it a protective varnish in the degree of gloss you have chosen.
