The set

A set of detail parts for car models in 1:24 scale from the manufacturer Yamamoto Model Parts, the manufacturer's part number YMPTUN4. Accessory parts are used on car models where a production kit has the shapes simplified: in the engine bay, on the chassis, in the interior or on the wheels.

What accessory parts bring

Car models are looked at from close up in a display case, so the small things stand out on them. A finer part replaces a coarser component out of a kit and makes both the shape and the breaks in the surface more accurate. It pays to use the set deliberately, on the places that are visible once the model is finished, and to leave the rest of the kit as it is.

Building tips

Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder with fine sandpaper. Pick small parts up with tweezers and work over a surface with a raised edge, so that they do not spring away from you. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, degrease them and let them dry. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: where polystyrene is not involved, super glue applied in a small amount, ideally with the tip of a wire, holds best. Before you glue a part on, try the seating dry and adjust the recess in the kit if need be. The particular procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions. On painted surfaces of the body, reckon on the coat of paint enlarging the size of the recess only slightly, so try the parts only on a part that is already painted.

The package holds only the parts of this set. The car kit, the paints, the glue and the tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
