A large injection-molded plastic kit of the German Junkers Ju 87B-2 Stuka dive bomber in the big 1:24 scale from Trumpeter. Thanks to the scale this is a large and richly broken-down model with a high parts count: a detailed engine, a well-worked cockpit and landing gear bays, photo-etched parts, engraved tires and decals. The finished model is of considerable size - count on a large display case.
The Ju 87 Stuka was a symbol of German Blitzkrieg tactics - a dive bomber with a characteristic cranked, inverted gull wing, fixed (non-retractable) landing gear in aerodynamic spats and sirens for psychological effect during a diving attack. The B-2 version was one of the main variants of the early period of the Second World War. The crew was a pilot and a rear gunner.
A large scale reveals every detail - it pays to open up and paint the engine and the cockpit before you cover them. Glue the plastic with thin cement and the photo-etch with super glue. Paint the large areas of the wings and the fuselage with an airbrush in thin coats; apply primer before painting. The fixed landing gear in its spats and the cranked wing are visually crucial - give them care and watch the angles.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
