An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima in 1:24 scale. The real subject is the Honda Beat with the factory code PP1 of the 1991 model year, completed with the modifications of the Japanese tuning shop RS Mach. Aoshima has an extensive series of modified Japanese cars in which it adds the specific aerodynamic elements, wheels and fittings of a particular tuning studio to a standard body.
The Honda Beat is a two-seat roadster of the kei class, that is, of the Japanese category of the smallest cars with strictly limited dimensions and engine displacement. It was produced from 1991 and it was exceptional in its conception: a three-cylinder engine with a displacement of up to 660 cubic centimeters was mounted transversely ahead of the rear axle and drove the rear wheels. Such an arrangement was practically never seen on production kei cars. The Beat did not have great power but it did have low weight, a canvas roof and a driving character that came close to far more expensive sports cars. Today it is among the Japanese classics prized by collectors.
Thanks to the real subject the model is physically small, and every detail is all the more visible for it. Sand the body carefully, spray a primer and apply the color with an airbrush in thin layers - on a small area orange peel arises easily. The interior with its open cockpit is permanently in view on a roadster, so devote time to the seats, the instrument panel and the belts. Line the aerodynamic fittings up dry before gluing and fill any gaps with putty. Leave the wheels and tires until the close so that they are not damaged during handling.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
