A decal sheet from Aviattic with the four-color lozenge pattern in the faded version, made for the upper surfaces of models of First World War aircraft in 1:28 scale. The pattern is printed in its full width, so you cut strips from it as from a real roll of printed fabric.
The 1:28 scale has a long tradition among models of First World War aircraft, and the large surfaces of biplanes in it positively call for faithful covering. Aviattic prints the pattern recalculated exactly for this scale: the polygons are the right size relative to the ribs and the span, a detail you notice at once on a large model — a pattern taken from another scale would look coarse or, conversely, too fine. The faded shades then give the machine the authentic look of an aircraft after months of front-line service.
Prepare the surface to a smooth gloss and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the base shade. Lay the strips down gradually across the ribs, settle them with a softener and push the air out from the center toward the edges. Once dry, clear coat the whole with a matte varnish and add fine weathering if you wish.
This is a decal sheet — the model, varnish and other accessories are not included in the package.
