This set from the Czech maker Eduard holds photo-etched parts of thin sheet meant for detailing the gun bay in the wing of the P-51B Mustang fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an add-on set, which a modeler uses to improve the base plastic model.
The photo-etched parts replace or supplement the simplified plastic features in the area where the wing machine guns are housed. They add fine stiffeners, panels, closures and other small details that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully at this scale, and so make it possible to present the gun bay open.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade or an etching saw on a hard surface, make the bends over a metal bending tool and glue with super glue or two-part epoxy. Degrease the sheet before painting. Work with tweezers and in good light.
This is an add-on set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
