This is a resin airfield accessory, not an airplane model. The set represents a universal navy wheel chock, which is placed under an aircraft wheel to keep the aircraft from moving on its own on the apron or on deck. The chock comes with a nylon rope representing the release cord. This is the early version of the item. The accessory is intended for dioramas and models in 1:32 scale.
Wheel chocks are part of the basic airfield ground equipment. They are placed in front of and behind the landing gear wheels and hold a parked aircraft in place. The universal navy type with a rope was used with US Navy aircraft. On a diorama or a vignette they complete the setting of an apron or a carrier deck and give the scene scale and a story.
Wash the parts to remove any release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and clean them up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The nylon rope can be shaped to suit the base. Wooden or rubber chocks come out well when painted and then given edge highlights and a light patina.
This is an accessory, not a stand-alone aircraft kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
