A resin ejection seat with seat belts for the F-100D Super Sabre in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Quickboost - an accurate cockpit accessory, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin ejection seat with cast-in seat belts for the American supersonic F-100D Super Sabre fighter in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand. This is not an airplane model but an accurate replacement part for experienced modelers that takes the place of the simplified seat from a kit and lifts the fidelity of the cockpit at a stroke. The casting captures the fine relief of the straps, the buckles and the shell that is hard to produce in plastic.
The F-100 Super Sabre was the first American fighter able to exceed the speed of sound in level flight; the D version was the most widely built fighter-bomber variant and saw plenty of service in the Vietnam War as well. Under its slid-back canopy the seat is clearly visible, so it is worth concentrating on. The part is meant as a refinement of an existing F-100D model in the same scale, not as a stand-alone kit.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting block under the seat away with a sharp knife or a fine saw and sand the surface; protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) - ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Spray the seat with a base color, lift the belts with a different shade and pick out the buckles with a dry brush; a fine wash will deepen the details.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
