A photo-etched set for the late version of the Brummbär in 1:35 scale from Aber: metal parts for detailing a model. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set in 1:35 scale for a model of the German Sd.Kfz. 166 assault gun, known by the nickname Brummbär, in its late version. This is not a kit but a set of thin metal parts with which the plastic grilles, fenders, brackets and other parts that are meant to be sheet metal are replaced on the model. Aber is a Polish maker specializing in photo-etched and turned parts.
The Brummbär came about by setting a heavy howitzer of one hundred and fifty millimeters caliber into a closed superstructure on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. It was intended for destroying fortified positions and for fighting in built-up areas, where a highly effective shell was more use than anti-tank accuracy. The late vehicles differ from the early ones in a reworked superstructure, a different commander's hatch and a machine gun in the front wall.
Cut photo-etched sheet on a hard surface with sharp etch scissors or a scalpel, and never break a part out. Make the bends in a bending tool or at least between two blades, so that the edge is sharp and in the right place. Degrease the parts with alcohol, glue them with super glue, that is with cyanoacrylate, and apply primer to the metal, otherwise the paint will not hold. On this vehicle the etched parts do the most for the fenders and the grilles of the engine compartment.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
