The 1:35 IDF license plates, part 1 set from the manufacturer ELEFANT adds registration plates to models of Israeli equipment. It is a decal accessory, not a vehicle model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This supplementary set in 1:35 scale brings the registration plates of Israeli army vehicles. It is not a model and not a kit but a decal accessory with which a finished model is completed. Plates are exactly the kind of detail that either makes a model look convincing or leaves it empty: without them a vehicle looks like an anonymous piece of equipment, with them it gains a specific identity. The part 1 designation means that this is the first of a series of sheets the manufacturer has issued for Israeli equipment.
Israeli ground equipment carried registration plates in prominent positions on the front and rear of the vehicle, often together with further tactical markings. A modeler building an Israeli armored vehicle in 1:35 scale therefore needs plates of the right size and with the matching typeface. Painting characters this small by hand is difficult; a decal is a solution that is both cleaner and quicker.
First give the area where the decal will go a coat of gloss varnish. A matte surface contains microscopic irregularities in which air then stays trapped and the decal silvers. Soak the decal in warm water only briefly, transfer it into place with a brush and blot the excess water off with a paper tissue. On uneven areas a decal softener helps. Once dry, give the whole model a coat of matte varnish, which hides the edges of the film.
The supplementary set is supplied without a model. Paints, varnishes, decal softener and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
