A pair of resin ball mounts for the hull machine gun in 1:35 scale with a splash step for early and mid-production Panther Ausf. G tanks.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail accessory from the brand ELEFANT, two castings according to the name. It represents the ball mount for the hull machine gun in the rendering with a splash step, that is with a strip cast below the opening of the mount. Early and mid-production Panther Ausf. G tanks had this form. The set serves to substitute for the production part on a kit in 1:35 scale that you already own; it is not a vehicle model.
The splash step is a small strip below the ball mount, meant to catch fragments and ricocheting rounds sliding along the frontal armor so that they did not run into the gap around the mount. Similar solutions appeared elsewhere on German vehicles, for instance around turret vision ports. On a model it is a small but prominent shape: if you are building an early or mid-production Ausf. G and the step is missing, it is clearly apparent on the front of the hull.
The most delicate place is precisely the strip of the step. Protect it while removing the casting block, cut from the opposite side and sand the last remnant off by hand, not with a disc. Once the part is fitted into the hull, a seam around its edge appears and has to be filled; use a putty that can be sanded back once dry, and restore the coarser texture of cast armor on it, otherwise the smoothed spot will show once painted. Suggest the texture with the imprint of an old bristle in soft putty or by stippling with a thicker primer. Only then spray the base shade.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is not a complete vehicle model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
