An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-1b fighter in 1:48 scale from Hobby 2000. It is a rebox of a proven plastic mold supplemented with quality Cartograf decals and masking films. The box lets you build the aircraft of the 1st Polish Fighter Regiment Warszawa from 1944-45, which fought on the Eastern Front alongside Soviet units.
The Yakovlev Yak-1 was one of the basic Soviet fighters of the Second World War. The Yak-1b version brought an improved cockpit with a better view thanks to a cut-down rear fuselage and a teardrop canopy, revised armament and a number of other details. These agile and reliable aircraft were flown by Soviet and allied pilots alike; in the markings of the 1st Polish Fighter Regiment they became a symbol of the Polish units on the Eastern Front.
Use liquid cement for plastic, and finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. The enclosed masks make clean glazing of the teardrop canopy and crisp camouflage transitions easier. Apply primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush; the Cartograf decals are thin and cover strongly, so apply them onto a gloss clear coat compatible with the paint you have used. Suggest the wear and the traces of service on the Eastern Front with restraint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
