This item is not a complete kit of the tank but an add-on set from the Upgrade Solution Series range of the manufacturer Rye Field Model. It holds parts intended for a more detailed rendering of a model of the German Pz.Kpfw.III medium tank in the Ausf.J version in 1:35 scale, already built or under construction. Sets of this type are used where a base injection-molded kit offers only a simplified rendering of some areas. A separate model of the tank, which you buy separately, is always needed to use it.
The Pz.Kpfw.III was a German medium tank of the period of the Second World War, designed as a vehicle for fighting armored vehicles. The Ausf.J version represented one of the later production series, in which the frontal armor protection of the hull and the turret was strengthened and the vision ports and hatches were revised. The suspension used torsion bars with trailing arms. It is precisely the areas that sets of this type usually address, that is fine mesh, hatch hinges, thin sheet-metal elements and fasteners, that can be captured in injection-molded plastic only to a limited degree.
Compare the set with the particular model you are building before buying, because the extent of the parts is used differently with individual kits. We recommend trying each part dry first and only then gluing it. Fine metal or thin-walled sections are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and plastic parts with ordinary cement for polystyrene. Make the folds on a bending tool or at least on a hard straight edge, and never drag them with tweezers, as otherwise the material ripples. Before painting, degrease the whole model, because fingerprints on metal cause the paint to flake. Apply a primer suitable for metal and plastic alike, and only then the base shade.
This is an add-on set of parts, not a model. The model of the tank itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
