This is a 3D printed resin accessory in 1:48 scale representing a G-1 type oxygen tank from the equipment of the US Army Air Forces of the Second World War period. It is not a model or a kit but a separate detail intended for fitting out an aircraft interior, a workshop or an airfield scene. The manufacturer is the Czech firm Eduard.
On American aircraft the oxygen system was one of those items that recur in many places in the fuselage: tanks and cylinders were mounted along the walls and bulkheads so that the crew could reach them. On a model they fill spaces that are usually built empty out of the box, and with the hatches or fuselage cutouts open they are clearly visible. They also come into their own in a diorama as part of the ground crew equipment. Eduard offers the individual types of cylinders and tanks separately, so you can put together exactly the arrangement you need.
Cut the part off the print supports with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw, sand the marks away and wash the surface in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, otherwise the paint would not hold on it. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic will not join resin. Apply a primer before painting. The smooth surface of the tank suits an even coat from an airbrush, with a fine wash into the recesses around the fittings and discreet wear on the edges.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
