The basic Aber photo-etched set for the Soviet KV-2 heavy tank in 1:35 scale: the add-on set (vol. 1) with fine metal details.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a tank model but the basic photo-etched metal detail set (vol. 1) from the Polish manufacturer Aber for a plastic model of the Soviet KV-2 heavy tank. The set replaces coarse plastic features with fine photo-etched parts and raises the realism of the build.
The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy tank from the start of the Second World War, derived from the KV-1 but fitted with a massive boxy turret carrying a 152 mm howitzer. It was intended to destroy fortifications; because of its tall silhouette and weight it was a conspicuous and fairly unwieldy vehicle.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, make the bends along the etched grooves in a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish the running gear and turret details before you close up the hull. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer.
The set holds photo-etched metal parts only. The base plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
