A resin figure in 1:35 scale depicting an officer of a Polish motorized cavalry regiment in the period of September 1939. It is not a vehicle kit but a stand-alone casting meant to complete a diorama or to stand beside a finished model of a piece of equipment. The casting is unpainted and needs cleaning up, assembly and painting.
The figure is rendered in the period field uniform of the Polish army of 1939 with officer's insignia and personal gear. Motorized cavalry regiments were at that time a transitional formation between classic cavalry and mechanized units: they carried the traditional cavalry designations but moved in motor vehicles. The figure therefore works well in a scene with a period truck, an armored car or a tankette, where it serves as a focus both for the scale and for the action.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water, cut off the casting blocks and sand the joints; protect your airways when sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, with an accelerator if a small part needs fixing quickly. Apply a primer, and only then paint. Build the uniform from the base tone through a dark wash in the folds to a gentle highlight on the edges. The face and hands are worth painting separately while the head is still detached, as the work is then considerably more precise.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
