USS Monitor vs C.S.S. Virginia 1862 is a resin set of two ironclads in 1:700 scale from ROP o.s. Intended for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set in 1:700 scale holds two ironclads of the American Civil War, USS Monitor and C.S.S. Virginia, as they met in 1862. It is a resin kit intended for experienced modelers.
The two ships faced each other at the Battle of Hampton Roads in March 1862, the first duel between ironclad vessels in history. USS Monitor was marked out by a low hull and a single revolving gun turret, while C.S.S. Virginia (rebuilt on the hull of a former frigate) had a sloped armored casemate with broadside guns. The duel ended without a decision, but it marked a turning point in warship design. A set of two models makes it possible to build the whole historical scene.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them down with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The low hulls of ironclads suit a water surface with waves ideally as a waterline build. An airbrush, dark shades of iron armor and fine washes or rust to bring out the rivets and the deck are recommended.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
