1:35 Tigr with the Kornet anti-tank system – masking stencils for spraying is a set of self-adhesive stencils that define the camouflage shapes for airbrushing on a model of the Russian armored car. These are not canopy masks.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the manufacturer SX-Art holds self-adhesive stencils for spraying the camouflage scheme on a model of the Tigr armored car with the launcher for Kornet anti-tank guided missiles in 1:35 scale. The stencils are applied to an already painted model and the further camouflage shades are airbrushed through them. The subject is a wheeled vehicle, not the Second World War tank of the similar name.
The Tigr is a Russian light armored car with all-wheel drive, conceived as a universal carrier for reconnaissance, communications and crew transport. It is marked by high ground clearance, an angular armored hull and an adaptable body. In the version with the Kornet system it carries the launcher for anti-tank guided missiles mounted on the roof of the hull.
Military vehicles today are routinely sprayed in multi-color camouflage with a hard edge, which you will not get freehand. A stencil defines the shape precisely and, above all, identically on both sides of the vehicle, which is practically unattainable freehand. Let the base shade cure overnight, free the surface of dust and grease and press the stencil down especially around the hatches, grab handles and riveted strips — that is where paint creeps under it most often. Spray thin coats perpendicular to the edge; a single heavy coat can run under the edge even beneath a well pressed film. If you want a softer transition, let the stencil sit more loosely and increase the distance of the gun. Remove it once the paint has set, so that the film does not pull a layer of paint off the sharp edge of the armor plate.
This is a building accessory, not a model. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
