Masking stencils for spraying in 1:35 scale, cut for a kit from the ICM brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking stencil relieves a modeler of the most unpleasant part of spraying: going over the edges with a brush and laying tape down millimeter by millimeter. The stencil is applied to the model before spraying, the paint is laid on over it and once it is off a sharp transition stays exactly where it should be. The work is faster because of that and, above all, repeatable, because the shape is set in advance and does not depend on the steadiness of your hand.
The set is prepared for 1:35 scale and for a kit from the ICM brand, as the bracket in the name states. The shape of the stencil comes from a particular model, so it need not fit a kit from another manufacturer even when it is the same vehicle. Before buying, therefore, compare which kit you have under construction.
Let the area under the stencil dry perfectly and clear it of dust and grease, otherwise the edge will be undercut. Lay the stencil on and press it down around its whole perimeter, with particular care in the places where it crosses an edge or a detail. Spray the paint in thin coats and perpendicular to the surface, so that no mist gets under the edge. Lift the stencil off soon after the paint is dry to the touch, not after several days: a fresh layer breaks cleanly along the edge, while an aged one may tear. Lift it off with a pull at an angle toward yourself, not perpendicular upward.
Masking stencils are what is supplied. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
