A vacuum-formed canopy with masks for the Mitsubishi A6M2b, A6M3 and A6M5 in 1:72 scale from the maker Dead Design - a thin-walled clear canopy with cut masks for a clean spray finish on the frames.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory set joins a vacuum-formed canopy of clear plastic to a sheet of precisely cut masks. The vacuum-formed molding is markedly thinner and clearer than the injection-molded part from the kit, so the interior of the model really does show; the masks then take care of the most laborious step - painting the densely framed Japanese canopy cleanly. This is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory to one.
The set covers the main production versions of the Japanese carrier-based fighter Mitsubishi A6M, known as the Zero - from the machines that made their name in the first years of the war in the Pacific to the most widespread late version. The many-paned canopy is one of the recognizable features of the type, and painting it without masks is very time-consuming.
For modelers of the Zero in 1:72 scale who want clearer glazing and sharp frames, and also as a replacement for a damaged or lost original part. Cutting the vacuum-formed molding out calls for a little practice.
This is a modeling accessory - the kit of the aircraft itself is not included in the package.
