A Ukrainian police shield 1:35 is a diorama accessory with two pieces in the package, not a model nor a figure. It completes modern scenes with police and public-order units.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small accessory from the Czech maker Hauler for present-day dioramas and vignettes. It is not a kit of a vehicle nor a figure but equipment that you add to figures and vehicles yourself. The package holds two pieces, so it will do for a pair of figures or for a scene where the shields are set aside by an armored car.
A public-order shield is a piece of personal protective equipment of police units. It tends to be made of transparent polycarbonate, has a rectangular or slightly curved shape and grips for the forearm and the hand on the inner side. It serves to protect against blows and thrown objects while public order is being secured. Similar equipment is used by police forces all over the world, differing mainly in proportions, stiffeners and the lettering on the front surface.
It is a very small and flat part, so it pays to work on a light-colored surface and with tweezers. Sand and smooth the face of the shield carefully before painting - every scratch will show under the varnish. Transparent polycarbonate can be suggested in two ways: either with a dark smoke shade sprayed over with a gloss varnish, or with a light gray base and several glossy coats that create depth. Set the frame, the stiffeners and the grips on the back apart in a semi-matte black. Restrained weathering looks better than overdone: a few fine scratches by drybrushing, light dust on the lower edge, and otherwise leave the surface clean and glossy, because plastic gets dirty differently than metal. Glue the shield to a figure only after both parts have been painted.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Figures, glue and paints are not included in the package.
