This photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale raises the detail of a model of the American armored truck, the gun truck. It adds fine metal parts such as armor panels, grilles, brackets and features of the armament, which give a model the authentic look of an improvised protected vehicle. It is not a standalone model but a refining accessory for a plastic kit.
American gun trucks came about by converting standard trucks, which the crews fitted with improvised armor and machine gun or automatic armament. They served to protect supply convoys and came to the fore above all in the Vietnam War period.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and make the bends along the score lines with a bending tool. Glue the armor panels with super glue and keep the angles true. Once painted, bring out the rivets and the edges with drybrushing and fine-tune the service wear with washes and pigments.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
