This is a photo-etched detail set from Tetra Model Works, not a vehicle model. The set in thin brass sheet sharpens up a plastic kit of the American M10 tank destroyer in 1:35 scale: usually the tool clamps, the grilles, the fenders, the lifting eyes and the fine elements of the open turret and the hull.
The M10 was an American tank destroyer of the period of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Sherman medium tank. It stood out for an open, pentagonal rotating turret with a 76.2 mm (3 inch) gun. It was deployed in North Africa, Italy and Western Europe, and with British units it was known under the nickname Wolverine.
The photo-etched parts in thin brass sheet are separated with a sharp knife on a hard surface, bent over an edge or in a bending tool and bonded best with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is a good idea to degrease both the photo-etch and the plastic before gluing. In an open turret the photo-etched details show up particularly well, because they stay visible once the build is finished. The finished surface is treated with a primer and sprayed with an airbrush, and the weathering is built up with washes and pigments.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
