A set of equipment of the American infantry of the Second World War period in 1:35 scale from CMK will complete figures and interiors with small gear.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of small accessories, not figures and not a vehicle kit. The contents are the gear and personal equipment of an American infantryman of the Second World War period, that is the objects that in modeling practice are hung about figures, hung on the fenders and sides of vehicles or stacked in the corners of a diorama.
Equipment is a detail that does disproportionately great service on a model. A figure supplied in a base kit tends to be cast with only the most necessary gear and looks empty; well placed pouches, haversacks or a helmet hung by its strap give it weight and the feeling that the figure has come from somewhere. The same holds with vehicles: a few pieces of gear on the hull break up a uniform surface and at the same time quietly suggest that the machine has a crew. The set also suits figures from other makers, as long as the scale matches.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent. On small parts, cut the casting blocks off with a new blade and in small pieces, as on pouches and straps a lug or a buckle is easily broken off. Level the remains of the block with fine abrasive paper wet. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; on small parts a drop applied with a toothpick is enough. The painting is rewarding: a base, canvas parts in a muted green or sand tone, leather straps in brown and metal buckles separately. The difference between the materials does more than an exact shade. Finally a weak dark wash in the folds and a light dusting, as equipment tends to be dirtier than a uniform.
The set is an accessory, not a stand-alone model and not a figure. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
