A set of figures in 1:35 scale from the MIG productions brand. This is not a vehicle kit but an accessory cast from resin, which will liven up a finished tank model or a diorama scene from the summer of 1944. The abbreviations in the original name refer to a German tank unit deployed in Normandy. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted and they are intended for finishing off an already built vehicle.
In the summer of 1944 the crews of German tank units wore a combination of field blouses, coveralls and soft caps, and commanders are usually depicted in the turret hatch with binoculars or with headphones. These poses are precisely the most useful ones for dioramas: they fill an otherwise empty turret opening, give the scene scale and direct the eye of the viewer where the figure is looking.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release residue disappears, otherwise the paint does not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutter, not with nippers for plastic - resin splinters and cracks. Always sand with respiratory protection, best of all wet. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; common glue for plastic does not work on resin. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting. Build the faces and the hands from several glazes of flesh shades and finish them off with a dry brush, and shade the uniform with oil paints or a dark wash. Try the seating in the hatch dry, as hatches differ from model to model.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
