A sheet of printed posters in 1:35 scale meant to be cut out and glued into a diorama. It holds period poster art connected with the Second World War and serves purely as a scenic accessory that gives a backdrop the credibility of the period. It is not a model, not a kit and not a waterslide decal — it is printed paper that you work with a knife, tweezers and glue.
A paper poster has both merits and limits against a decal. In its favor are a real thickness and a matte, absorbent surface that looks like genuinely pasted-up paper, and the option of leaving a corner peeled back or an edge torn. The limit is that it will not conform to broken relief on its own — on rough stucco or a plank wall the paper has to be damped first and pressed down firmly, or else only a smaller piece used. For strongly curved surfaces a decal is the better choice; on flat walls, doors, billboards and interior walls paper wins.
Cut with a sharp scalpel and a fresh blade, and feel free to leave the edge slightly irregular — perfectly straight edges look artificial. It is glued with a thin layer of PVA or matte paper glue applied to the surface rather than to the cut piece itself. Once it is dry, spray it with matte varnish, otherwise the paper will stay glossier than its surroundings and will visually stand out from the scene. Gentle aging is handled by a very thin wash or a dust pigment drawn from the top down.
The accessory is supplied as a printed sheet. Glue, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
