An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern Royal Navy Type 45 destroyer in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. It is an extensive full-hull model with a large number of parts; the package holds a photo-etched fret and a shipboard helicopter as well. The model is meant to be assembled, painted and displayed on a stand.
The Type 45 (Daring class) is a British air defense destroyer with strikingly shaped superstructure and an integrated radar system. It carries a vertical launching system for surface-to-air missiles, a gun and a shipboard helicopter; it serves primarily to protect a task force against air threats. HMS Daring, the first vessel of the class, entered service at the end of the first decade of this century.
Because of the large number of parts, follow the instructions and clean up the hull joints carefully. We recommend a primer, painting with an airbrush and accenting the panels and the decks with a wash. Glue the photo-etched railings and antennas with cyanoacrylate glue, and mask the clear parts of the helicopter while spraying.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
