The plastic kit FineMolds 1:350 IJN destroyer Ayanami captures the Japanese Special Type destroyer of the Fubuki class. A finely detailed model to assemble and paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds represents the Japanese destroyer Ayanami in 1:350 scale. The model belongs to a range with very finely molded parts and allows a build with the full hull or as a waterline version. The elevation of the main guns can be set as you wish. The model is meant to be assembled and painted by the builder.
The Ayanami was a Japanese destroyer of the so-called Special Type (Toku-gata) of the Fubuki class, commissioned in 1930. For her day she was an exceptionally heavily armed vessel with a main gun armament of 12.7 cm caliber and powerful torpedo tube mounts. The ship was lost in the fighting for Guadalcanal in 1942.
Cut the small parts off very carefully; add-on photo-etched railings (not included) suit the fine elements well. Paint the hull and the decks separately before the final assembly; gray with darker decks is typical of Japanese vessels. The model shows to good effect on a display stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
