A set of turned metal barrels for a model of the American battleship USS New York (BB-34) as she was after 1942, 1:350 scale, made by MASTER. It contains 10 barrels of the main 356 mm caliber (14 inches, L/45 length), 6 barrels of the secondary 127 mm caliber (5 inches, L/51) and 12 barrels of the anti-aircraft 76 mm caliber (3 inches, L/50). Turned metal has a straight bore and a sharp muzzle.
USS New York was an American battleship of the class of the same name, commissioned in 1914. In the Second World War she served above all for fire support of landing operations and as a convoy escort; her anti-aircraft armament was markedly strengthened during the war, and this later configuration of barrels follows that.
Separate the barrels from the gate, adjust the seating pin and glue them in with cyanoacrylate. Before painting, apply primer to the metal. Straight metal barrels make it possible to line up the armament faithfully at a uniform elevation.
The set serves as a turned replacement for parts of a base kit; on its own it is not a ship model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
